SB 510 -- ENDOWED CARE CEMETERIES

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Local
Government by a vote of 12 to 0.

This bill requires an endowed care cemetery to file its annual
trust fund report with the Office of Endowed Care Cemeteries
within the Division of Professional Registration in the
Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions, and Professional
Registration as a prerequisite for its annual license renewal.
Currently, the filing of this report is not required.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2008, FY 2009, and
FY 2010.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that there currently is no penalty
for failure to file the annual report.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Scott; and Office of Endowed
Care Cemeteries, Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions,
and Professional Registration.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
